HORMONE THERAPY FOR WOMEN

Feel Like Yourself Again

Personalized treatments to restore your vitality.

What Is Hormone Replacement Therapy?

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) helps alleviate unpleasant symptoms associated with menopause by supplementing declining hormones. As women approach menopause, their ovaries produce less estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone.

This hormone fluctuation is responsible for hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, mood changes, and sleep disturbances.

HRT can provide relief by:

Replenishing estrogen to regulate menstrual cycles and minimize menopausal symptoms. Restoring progesterone to prepare the uterus for pregnancy. Boosting testosterone to improve libido, energy, and mood.

At Allure Medical, we offer hormone pellet implants that provide steady hormone release over 3-6 months, avoiding the ups and downs of other methods. Pellet implants also eliminate the need for daily pills or applications.

Understanding the Role of Hormones in Women’s Bodies

Estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone act as chemical messengers, guiding processes from puberty to cognition. Key roles they play:

  • Initiate puberty and breast development

  • Control ovulation and menstruation

  • Support pregnancy and fetal development

  • Guide sexual desire and function

  • Support heart health and cholesterol

  • Contribute to bone density

  • Shape body-fat distribution

  • Sharpen focus, memory, and mood

The Protective Benefits of HRT

Beyond easing menopause symptoms, research links hormone therapy to meaningful long-term protection:

Heart & Cardiovascular Health Estrogen keeps blood vessels flexible and supports healthy cholesterol. Started within 10 years of menopause, HRT is linked to a lower risk of heart attack and cardiovascular death.

Breast Cancer Protection In the largest trial to date, estrogen-only therapy showed a slightly lower breast-cancer risk than no treatment — and adding testosterone appears to lower that risk further.

52%

Lower cardiovascular disease risk after 10 years of HRT

39%

Lower risk of death from breast cancer in long-term follow-up

40–70%

Lower breast cancer risk with the addition of testosterone

After decades of concern, the FDA has officially removed cardiovascular risk warnings from estrogen products. This landmark decision validates what we’ve known for 20 years.

The FDA’s removal of the black box warning on estrogen marks a turning point in women’s healthcare. For years, women were denied safe, effective hormone replacement therapy due to outdated concerns about cardiovascular risk. The recent FDA announcement confirms what leading practitioners have known: when properly prescribed and monitored, estrogen is safe and beneficial. This decision opens the door for millions of women to access the relief and vitality they deserve—without fear or stigma.

Customized, Fully Personalized Hormone Replacement Therapy

At Allure Medical, we offer customized hormone replacement therapy using bioidentical hormone pellets implanted under your skin. Our comprehensive approach ensures you receive exactly the right hormone dosages and ongoing care.

Next, our experts determine the optimal bioidentical estradiol, testosterone, and/or progesterone dosages to restore your levels based on your lab results and needs. We precisely compound each pellet implant to deliver the right hormones your body requires.

During a quick in-office procedure, we place the customized hormone pellets under your skin, where they dissolve slowly and consistently. This provides steady hormonal delivery without peaks and valleys for reliable symptom relief.

Based on your progress, we adjust dosages over time to optimize your hormonal balance and comfort. This ongoing fine-tuning is essential for safety and treatment success.

Who Is a Good Candidate for HRT?

The best candidates for hormone replacement therapy are women experiencing multiple moderate to severe menopause symptoms who:

  • Are close to menopause or within 10 years of their final period

  • Have a premature or early menopause before age 45

  • Need relief from symptoms that impact quality of life, such as hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, insomnia, and mood changes

  • Have a low risk of blood clots, heart disease, stroke, and breast cancer

  • Don’t have any conditions made worse by estrogen, such as liver disease or endometriosis

  • Want to start therapy within a few years of menopause for maximum benefits

  • Wish to prevent bone loss or reduce heart disease risks

Women experiencing distressing menopause symptoms are encouraged to schedule a consultation to determine if HRT is appropriate for their needs and health status. We look forward to helping you find relief.

Experiencing multiple moderate to severe menopause symptoms

  • Close to menopause or within 10 years of your final period
  • Premature or early menopause, before age 45
  • Seeking relief from hot flashes, night sweats, or vaginal dryness
  • Sleep, mood, or memory changes affecting daily life
  • Low risk of blood clots, heart disease, breast cancer, and stroke
  • No conditions that could be made worse by estrogen
  • Interested in preventing bone loss and protecting long-term health

In 2002-2004 studies (WHI) incorrectly suggested that Estrogen and progesterone may be harmful to women’s health. This opened our eyes to re-evaluating the cause of menopause and other treatment options.

The WHI studies were likely the greatest detriment to women’s health in the modern era, not because of a flawed study, but due to a misunderstanding of the outcomes. You can read about this further in Dr. Mok's book “Testosterone: Strong Enough for a Man But Made for a Woman” or listen to the podcast “Inside the cure with Dr Charles Mok."

Enter testosterone. Women have 20 times more testosterone than estrogen (but about 1/10th as much as men). And over the next decade, we discovered that testosterone reduced menopausal symptoms on the same order as estrogen alone, namely because estrogen is a byproduct of testosterone.

Moreover, since testosterone was FDA-approved for women with metastatic breast cancer in the 1950s, we found that testosterone supplementation not only relieved symptoms of menopause but also substantially protected women against breast cancer. Later evidence showed that estrogen is effective for the vasomotor symptoms of menopause, bone health, healthy skin, healthy weight, sexuality, and sleep, but also is protective of the cardiovascular system.

This has led to a more contemporary approach to menopause, replacing the hormones in a bio-identical fashion.

HRT: the old way vs. the new way

The modern approach

  • Testosterone — effective for menopausal symptoms and strongly breast-cancer protective
  • Estrogen — effective for menopausal symptoms and strongly cardiovascular protective
  • Progesterone — protects the uterine lining, brain, and vascular organs, and aids sleep

The historic approach

  • Estrogen-only therapy — limited to women who no longer have a uterus
  • Combination therapy — synthetic progestins linked to added risks

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a hormone pellet?

Tiny rice-sized pellets containing bioidentical hormones are implanted under the skin that provide steady hormone release over 3-4 months before needing replacement.

Are there any risks?

In a major 5-year study of over 1,200 women, no significant medication-related side effects occurred with hormone pellet therapy. Pellet insertion itself is minimally invasive with little discomfort.

What are the benefits?

Hormone pellets not only relieve menopause symptoms but also reduce heart disease and breast cancer risks in women. We offer prescription plans or per-pellet pricing for hormone pellets.
